Hingham High School has
named Jim Connor as its next head football coach, as announced by Director of
Athletics Jim Quatromoni and Principal Rick Swanson.
“I am excited to
announce Jim Connor as our next head football coach and welcome him to the
Hingham school community,” said Quatromoni. “Jim is an established
presence among football coaches in eastern Massachusetts. The success
that he has enjoyed as a head coach, first at North Quincy, and more recently
in Norwell, speaks to his knowledge of the game and ability to inspire high
achievement in student-athletes. I trust him to build upon the strong
foundation that exists here, and to advance the culture of Harbormen Football.”
Coach Connor has been
the head coach at Norwell High School since 2013. Prior to that, he was
the head football coach at North Quincy High School from 2006 to 2012.
With both programs, Coach Connor’s teams have been recognized for their
on-field execution, team discipline and sportsmanship. This past season,
Coach Connor led Norwell to the South Shore League Sullivan Division
Championship and was named the Eastern Massachusetts Association of
Interscholastic Football Officials Coach of the Year.
Prior to starting his
coaching career, Coach Connor was an All American lineman at Strath Haven High
School in Wallingford, PA. He earned a full athletic scholarship to
Boston College, where he played in four bowl games and earned two varsity
letters.
Coach Connor has been a
history teacher at North Quincy High School since 2003. He lives in Marshfield
with his wife and two children.
