Hingham High School names Roland Millien as Girls' Basketball Coach

Hingham High School has named Roland Millien as its next girls' basketball coach, as announced by Director of Athletics Jim Quatromoni and Principal Rick Swanson.

"We are truly excited to announce Roland Millien as our next girls' basketball coach," said Quatromoni. "After an impressive playing career at Stoughton High, Bridgewater State and on the professional level, Roland now applies his relentless approach to leadership and coaching.  I trust that this approach will help to push our program to the next level and positively impact the culture of Harborwomen Basketball."

Roland was a 2 year captain at Stoughton High School where he reached 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.  He again became a 2 year captain, 1,000 point scorer, and achieved 1,000 rebounds at Bridgewater State.   In his senior year at Bridgewater State, Roland was named the Student-Athlete of the Year.  After college, Roland played professionally in the Boston Basketball Exposure League and in 2014 played for the Haitian National Team.

Roland spent four years as boys' assistant coach at Milton Academy.  He has been the girls' varsity coach at Milton High School since 2017 helping the Wildcats reach the state tournament in his first year on the job.

"I'm excited and so happy to be welcomed into the Hingham Community, " said Millien.  "I'm looking forward to bringing my knowledge and experience to a group of hard working and talented student-athletes.  Now let's get to work!"

Coach Millien is a special education teacher's assistant at the Helen H. Hansen Elementary School in Stoughton.  He lives in Middleboro with his partner and daughter.
